HARRISBURG – Rep. Perry Stambaugh (R-Perry/Cumberland) released the following statement today in response to Auditor General Timothy DeFoor’s findings about West Perry School District.
“When the auditor general announced West Perry School District lost out on $533,441 in transportation reimbursements from the state, I was disheartened as both a state representative and a resident of the district itself. I thank Mr. DeFoor for his work on this audit that will ultimately save local taxpayers money. I also commend the school district on its pledge to enact better control measures in the future,” Stambaugh said. “I hope this audit serves as a wake-up call for all public school districts.”
According to DeFoor’s office, the audit covered July 1, 2015, to June 30, 2019, and found the school district failed to properly report student transportation costs eligible for reimbursement from the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
