Stambaugh’s Bill to Encourage Online Filing of Campaign Finance Reports Passes House

June 29, 2022

HARRISBURG – The House of Representatives has unanimously passed legislation that would encourage electronic filing of campaign finance reports, according to the bill’s sponsor, Rep. Perry Stambaugh (R-Perry/Cumberland).

House Bill 711 urges all candidates for office and political action committees to file electronically.

“This is a commonsense measure to increase transparency and accountability,” Stambaugh said. “Campaign finance reports can be filed electronically now, and we need more candidates to take advantage of that option. E-filing streamlines operations, removes logjams during peak filing times, and ensures reports are posted in a timely manner.”

House Bill 711 goes to the Senate for its consideration.
