HARRISBURG – State Sen. Judy Ward (R-30) and Rep. Perry Stambaugh (R-Perry, Juniata) announced today the approval of more than $548,000 in state assistance from the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) for two Juniata County projects.

Approved by the CFA were grants applied for as follows:

• Port Royal Municipal Authority - more than $226,000 for the Milford Street Utility Line rehabilitation project in Port Royal Borough.

• Thompsontown Municipal Authority - more than $322,000 for renovations to Well No. 2 at Haldeman Park in Thompsontown Borough.

“These water infrastructure projects ensure residents have clean water coming through their faucets and showers, and wastewater leaving their homes to be treated at a facility,” Ward said. “The grants help local municipalities provide one of the essential functions of government for local residents.”

“The upgrades being supported by this funding will help ensure quality water and wastewater services for communities across the 86th Legislative District,” notes Stambaugh. “These infrastructure improvements will benefit not only for current residents but also our children and grandchildren.”
