NEW BLOOMFIELD – Rep. Perry Stambaugh (R-Perry/Juniata) today announced that the Juniata County Historical Society and the Historical Society of Perry County have both received funding through the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission Cultural and Historical Support Grant Program. Each received $9,500, for a combined $19,000.
“The work of our historical societies helps ensure the stories, documents, and places that tell the tales of our communities aren’t lost,” Stambaugh said. “I’m glad to see the Juniata County Historical Society and the Historical Society of Perry County receive funding, and I know these grants will make a real difference in supporting the important work they do.”
Grants awarded to the Juniata County Historical Society will be used for maintaining its properties and helping cover electricity costs. The Historical Society of Perry County will use its grant to support administrative assistance in reorganizing, preserving, and cataloging its archives at the Fetter House in Landisburg.
